TIMBERFEST

October 2-3, 2009

This annual event is held the first weekend of every October in downtown Sheridan. You'll find Lumberjack Competitions, games and fun for children of all ages, arts and crafts, the 5K run, a parade and much more. The event is held on the Grant County Courthouse Square.

Lumberjack Contestants
The Arkansas State Lumberjack competition is held each year in Sheridan during our Timberfest celebration. Lumberjacks come from all over to compete against each other, and local lumberjacks, for points and prizes. You can now pre-register for the upcoming 2009 Lumberjack Competition Click here for an entry form.
 

Parade
Our annual Timberfest Parade is always a big hit with Grant County residents and visitors. This year's parade is set for 10 a.m. on Saturday Oct 3rd. For an entry form, please click here.

Timberfest Pageants
The 2009 Timberfest Pageant is scheduled for September 26th.  Miss Arkansas 2009, Sarah Slocum will be there as Master of Ceremonies.  One dollar $1of each admission fees will go to support The Children's Miracle Network. Car Show
Each year, we have a large number of wonderful exhibitors who bring their cars and trucks for display and competition. The Car Show will be held on Saturday, Oct 3rd. There are five categories in which to compete. For more details and an entry form, please click here.

2K Walk
The Timberfest 2K Walk will be held in conjunction with the 25th annual Timberfest celebration in Sheridan, Arkansas. The Timberfest course is an out and back course which winds through the residential area of Sheridan. It is a moderately challenging course with periodic rolling hills offering a unique walking experience. Traffic will be controlled. Trophies will be awarded to the overall male and female winners. 5K Run

Dutch Oven Cook-Off (Adult and Junior)
The annual Dutch Oven Cook-Off is set for Friday, Oct. 2nd, and Saturday, Oct. 3rd. Adults will cook on Saturday and juniors will cook on Friday. For more information and an entry form, please click the appropriate age group below:

Bow Shoot
A Bow Shoot will be held on Saturday Oct 3rd. Competition fee is $5 for 5 shots. Plaques and prizes will be awarded. Entry form and information is available online by clicking here.

Horse Shoe Tournament
The annual Horse Shoe Tournament is limited to the first 32 teams. For rules for this event, please click here. If you'd like to enter the tournament, please click here for an entry form.

Pet Show
The pet show is set for Saturday Oct 3rd. From Look-A-Like to Best Costume, we have several events that are sure to entertain the crowd. If you'd like to participate in one (or all) of the events, click here for information and an entry form.

Pinewood Derby
The Pinewood Derby contest begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday Oct 3rd. For details, rules and an entry form, click here.

Sheridan Punt, Pass, Kick
This event is for boys and girls ages 8-15.  They will compete separately against their peers in punting, passing, and placekicking skills.  This year's competition will take place on the Pee Wee Football Fields across from The Sheridan Recreation Center located at 1511 South Rose. Grant County's Got Talent
One of the biggest crowd-pleasers is the Grant County Talent Contest. There are several categories in which to participate. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive a cash prize.  To obtain an entry form, please click here.

Guitar Hero Competition                                    Back by popular demand!  The competition begins at 12:30pm in the Heartland Bank parking lot.  There is an entry fee of $5.  The winner receives a $100 gift card from Wal-Mart and a Guitar Hero game with guitar.  Click here.
